Part of the Storefront Resurgence Project
Brighter storefronts, busier blocks.
Current round complete. Not accepting applications at this time.
Powered by Wells Fargo, the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Foundation's façade program renovates storefronts along four of Manhattan's neighborhood commercial corridors. Working directly with merchants and building owners, it has already helped 40 businesses put their best face forward.
A storefront is a block's first impression.
Manhattan's storefront recovery is real, but uneven. Borough-wide vacancy is now within a fifth of a point of its pre-pandemic level, yet neighborhood corridors are still fighting for every shopper — and visits from outside the neighborhood fell in every Upper Manhattan district this year.
When one storefront looks tired, the whole block feels it. A renovated façade gives a neighborhood business a stronger street presence and tells everyone passing by that this corridor is open for business.

Four corridors, block by block.
We chose corridors where investment could change the feel of an entire stretch, not just a single address. District figures below are from our June 2026 Storefront Tracker.
