Stop the Delivery Protection Act

Intro 518 would bar large carriers from contracting with the locally owned delivery companies that move packages across New York City. Those firms, and the thousands of New Yorkers they employ, would be wiped out, while big operators move their facilities across the Hudson.
We share the goal of safer streets and better jobs. There's a better way to get there: fully staff city enforcement, require vehicle safety equipment, fix curbs and loading zones, and publish crash and injury data for every facility.

Let homeowners host again (Intro 879)
Local Law 18 shut out New Yorkers who rent a room in the home they live in. Intro 879 would let owners of one- and two-family homes host up to four guests in a bedroom with a lock, including while they travel.
That means extra income for homeowners and more visitor spending at neighborhood shops and restaurants.
Support Intro 879Know the cost before the vote
The Council already estimates what a new law will cost the city budget. It doesn't estimate what that law will cost the businesses and workers who have to live with it.
A Local Economic Impact Analysis would publish that estimate, with time for public comment, before the final vote. Outdoor dining, the gate mandate, and sidewalk sheds all show what happens without one.
