Chamber President Named to City & State's 2019 "Power of Diversity: Black 100"
Monday, December 9, 2019
Manhattan Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jessica Walker was today named to City and State's "Power of Diversity: Black 100" list, which recognizes the most powerful black men and women in New York State. Each individual included was assessed based on their record, particularly within the political or policy arenas.
From City and State New York: "Since taking the helm at the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce in 2016, Jessica Walker hasn’t been shy about advocating for local businesses. Walker, who previously worked at the Partnership for New York City, has called on the New York City Council to amend or avoid legislation she says harms business owners, including a measure that makes it harder to fire fast-food workers and a landmark law overhauling New York City’s private trash hauling system."
