Thursday, July 27, 2017

Statement from Jessica Walker, president and CEO of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, and Alexander J. Fruchtman, chairman of the Chamber's LGBT Network:

"Yesterday it was announced that transgender individuals will no longer be able to serve our country in the US Armed Forces. While we have made many strides toward achieving equality for the LGBT community, this is a reminder that much still remains to be accomplished."

"The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce is firm in its support of the transgender and military communities and thanks those who currently and previously have bravely served our country. We will continue to monitor this situation and rise above discrimination."

"Embracing diversity is a pillar of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce’s values; supporting each other will help us grow as a community."
