Welcome to the online version of the Women & Minority Business Enterprise Certification & Procurement Guide. After several months of research, the WMBE Committee of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce has consolidated in this comprehensive guide a wealth of information for WMBE's regarding contract and procurement opportunities. A small business owner does not have the time to visit various agencies, surf hundreds of websites, etc. Our WMBE committee has developed a "one-stop" booklet and this website to bring all of this information together in one place for easier access by WMBE's. Every Women and Minority Business Enterprise must be aware that being certified doesn't assure you contracts from the City, the State or the Federal Government, or private corporations. It gives you the opportunities to bid on these contracts. The Certification process requires a lot of time and work to be done. But once you are certified, the opportunities may help you grow your business. You can view online procurement leads from US Federal agencies, the Defense Department, other government organizations and private companies in our online marketplace. Many of the Federal government procurement opportunities that have been set aside specifically for women, minority and other small businesses -- not all require certification. Be sure to visit the online Manhattan Chamber marketplace and start searching procurement opportunities immediately. |
